KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 (Bernama)-- Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd has targeted a contribution of RM66 million from its new health product, ChoicePlus, in the first year of its introduction.
Executive Vice President, Business Operations, Wan Mohd Fadzlullah Wan Abdullah said ChoicePlus, introduced in September this year, has registered a contribution of RM4 million involving 14 companies.
"This represents a positive benchmark for us, which showed that ChoicePlus is able to attract interest from companies in Malaysia in providing benefits for their employees' healthcare," he told Bernama.
"We view the importance of this product to be in line with the current needs, as through ChoicePlus we also help the companies to control their medical costs," he explained.
For this health coverage product, Wan Mohd Fadzlullah said Takaful Ikhlas has also cooperated with four hospitals namely Columbia Hospital, Prince Court Medical Centre, National Heart Institute and Salam Hospital.
"We are also discussing with several other hospitals to expand Takaful Ikhlas' coverage services via ChoicePlus," he said.
He said through its hospital health product segment, the company recorded contribution of more than RM50 million last year involving 154 companies.
He also said Takaful Ikhlas has plans to introduce a new health product for individuals early next year.
"It is similar to ChoicePlus but it'll be more focused on medical coverage for the individuals," he said, adding the company also plans to launch a new investment-linked product in the first quarter of 2013.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of MNRB Holdings Bhd, Takaful Ikhlas has emerged as one of the well-known takaful companies in Malaysia, and has attracted 1.8 million participants comprising individuals and companies.
